I know where she is but I can’t resist taking another look. There she lies whimpering in the trunk of my car, hands and feet bound tightly, isolated from all who would help her. She shakes her head pleadingly. She is begging me not to do it but thanks to the rag in her mouth its all just gibberish. God, it feels so god to see her desperate like this. But I will be free of her spell soon enough. Fuck, she is still here, pointing out my every failure. Making sure I don’t have a single opportunity to forget who the boss is. You could always change your mind. ” “No, I gave you plenty of chances. This time its for real. ” I stick the shovel in a pile of freshly moved earth and pop open the trunk. I feel confident now. I dug a hole and soon Ill bury my problems. The trunk opens and there she is. Still tied up. Still gagged. Still whimpering. Still vulnerable. I look at her for a moment. Take in that feeling. That rush of anticipation. I’m so close now. I’ll leave her whimpering in a shallow ditch and I will bury all of my memories of her too. Then Ill be free. I reach out, my fingers cast a the shadow across her body and face and then I grab her. She screams as usual but this time I don’t care. I shake her and put a solitary finger in her face. She doesn’t know what I will do if she struggles but right now she is not so eager to find out. With another whimper she is over my shoulder and I am walking back to my temporarily unoccupied hole.

She cries and pleads and the muzzle slips out. Now she can talk and I won’t have none of that. I throw her to the ground with a thud. Now she is quiet. I put the gag back into place and walk on in peace. I'm not ready to hear her talk. Not yet. She starts coming to just as we get to her grave. I drop her on the blanket. I may have been driven to murder but I'm still a gentleman. Besides If I don’t put her in a blanket there is a good chance she will climb out before she dies. Wrapping her up is the smart and civil thing to do. I look down at her and ready myself. Let her talk. Not for long but let her talk and beg. You love to hear her beg. Just one last time. Its like she has been practicing for this. I guess she had several hours in the back of the trunk. Maybe she is regretful. I mean, some people can change. She is not choking for air any longer. Her hands twitch and then are still. Its done. I feel a sudden wave of calmness and relief. Like I exorcised a demon from this earth. Its because I made a choice to say no and made sure you were not gonna have another chance. But now she lays there. Dead but beautiful. Her hair splayed out. half dressed and completely mine.
